How do I reset my old C5? New C8 already in and functioning

I've read the soft reset and other documents. I'm ok performing the steps.
I recently upgraded my setup to a C8. I'd kept the C5 as a backup and now want to reset it before I give/sell it.
How do I do that with the C8 currently in my setup, fully functional? Won't the C5 have a conflict with the C8 (since they essentially have the same database) in trying to connect up with devices & break the current setup?
What are the options? Should I be connecting up the C5 in a separate network away from home and then reset?

As a saftey precaution you could power off the C8 briefly so you can power up the C5 and then do these following steps.

  1. Reset on the zigbee and z-wave radio
  2. Perform a soft reset of the db.

Those two items are basically a factory reset.

Once those steps are done there shouldn't be any way for them to conflict with each other. So just power the C8 back up.
