I did use IFTTT when I had an August lock. I was able to sync it’s state and to a virtual lock status in HE. It was relatively reliable with their lock. I have not been following the new Google/IFTTT relationship. Might that that be an option for @PatrickD?
Well, if you use IFTTT, what does Google have to do with it? Google assistant does not work as a THEN in IFTTT. It only works as an input.
No I meant the lock. He wants status from the lock, doesn’t he? I used GAR to control the August lock, and IFTTT to get the lock stays into HE. So was thinking if IFTTT supports status from his lock, he could do the same. I assume he’s posting in the correct thread, since this is about Next X Yale lock.
If you can use IFTTT to get the locks status, couldn't you also use IFTTT to control the lock? Why would you have to use both?
IFTTT for August was pretty fast for status, but really slow to control it for some reason and would fail often. But Google Assistant control of it was fast and reliable. I’m guessing that’s why he’s not controlling it with IFTTT, or it does not work
unfortunately the 'nest x yale' locks are not supported on ifttt either....
the ui and app for nest are great, but the lock is a lost cause for integration, kinda a bummer
