HomeSeer HS-FLS100+ G2 Floodlight Sensor with Alexa - not a light

I have 2 of the HomeSeer HS-FLS100+ G2 Z-Wave Plus Floodlight Sensors that are using the native driver. I have them set to pass through to the Amazon Echo Skill. They do show up in the Alexa app, but they show up as only temperature sensors, so I can't control the light with Alexa. Any thoughts?

If you are using the built-in driver for it... then it is most likely because it does not have a capability that Alexa prioritizes as a Light. Alexa and Google make their decision on what a device will be based on the capabilities it returns and sometimes they choose something with far less features.

If the built-in driver is similar to the public one @bcopeland had available before he joined Hubitat, then it might not have the "Light" capability... although it should have the "Switch" one.

The switch capability is definitely available from the Hubitat GUI, but all that's available in Alexa is temperature. Do we have any guidance from Alexa (or Google) on how they prioritize - possibly based even on what feature comes first in the driver?

You need to go into the HomeKit app, turn on Show accessory classes and characteristics

and then go up to the device and tell it to export the Switch characteristic

Thanks. I don't currently use HomeKit. Are there no negative consequences in using both this and Hubitat to control the same devices?

My bad was reading a HomeKit thread right before I responded to this one; even though the primary for Alexa shows this device as temperature device, it will use it as a switch device in routines.

As far as multiple controls, I have mine set up with HE as the owner of the device, and then use the Alexa Echo Skill or the HomeKit app to ask HE to turn the device on/off. Thus the controller is HE, the others are just optional interfaces to HE.
