I'll give you some background. I have C7 with tons of devices connected. I use the Homekit integration and Homebridge, plus Alexa for voice control (Alexa actually works) . I really like the Apple Home app, and use Homebridge mostly for the Unifi camera integration and some other things. I love the HE Rule Machine for my rules. I can't believe what it is capable of, if only I was as capable.
I have a ton of Apple equipment (iPhone, iPad, iMac, Apple TV) so it seemed like a good idea to get some Homepods after the integration became available, These, in my opinion are good for playing music and that is about it. Every time I ask "Siri" to do something I get "who is speaking" I say David and then she doesn't do anything. Occasionally she will do what I tell her but not often.
I have researched this issue and have voice recognition turned on and tried a bunch of other things to fix this to no avail. I don't know if it is the sounds in the room that mess with the voice recognition or what. I can make a request with no ambient noise and she still won't work. I hate to compare Alexa and Siri, but Alexa works so much better in this regard it is ridiculous. You are probably saying "what a dufus, why does he need 2 assistants". I am not offended, my wife calls me a dufus all the time. If you have any ideas as how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it. I know the HE users are some of the smartest around. That is why I am posting here.
We use HomePods exclusively. Very rarely have an issue. They always recognize either my voice or my wife’s voice and respond accordingly. You might try retraining your voice.
Took your advice and have reset Siri voice recognition. Thanks
I will let you know if it helps.
