Homekit (beta) and Hue Lightstrip

I just upgraded to the latest version and enabled Homekit (beta). Most of it works excellent and it has even allowed me to solve my presence detection problems using virtual switches and automation from Homekit.

I do however have one weird issue that I cannot solve or explain. One of my devices does not show up in the Homekit integration.

It's a Hue Lightstrip connected via my Hue Bridge (CocoHue RGBW Bulb). I have several rules on Hubitat using this device and it works perfectly. I just can't get it to show up in Homekit integration and hence don't see it in the apple home app either.

Am I doing something wrong?

@user1270 Hue bridge devices won't be exposed to Homekit. You need to connect the Hue bridge directly to Homekit. The code is on the bottom of the bridge.

Ok  This explains whey my HUE GU10 White Ambiance bulbs don't show up either.

What is the reason for that? There is undoubtedly a sensible explanation. I just can figure it out. I imagine it will only add further delay and increased possibility for out-of-sync between Hubitat, Homekit and Hue?

Tnx.

Apple rules for certification. Certain devices can't be used (lan, cloud, locks)

You can create groups with them in HE and then share the group device to Homekit.
Personally, I have had my bridges shared to Homekit for years now and it has been good. If something goes wrong on the HE side, I can still control the lights with Siri.

Or create virtual switches to activate your hue stuff and expose that to Homekit
