If you have unused cable (since you are using streaming), you could always go MOCA. I have a 2.5 Gb MOCA backhual for my mesh AP's using my cable throughout the house. Just make sure any splitters in use are rated for MOCA (If any are Direct TV splitters, they will likely need to be replaced).
How about something like this?
Wireless HDMI 4 Receivers and Transmitter,Up to 6 RXs,No Hot,Extender Plug and Play,165FT/50M,2.4/5G Wirelessly Simultaneous Expansion for Multiple Screens from Laptop and Camera to TVs,Projectors Amazon.com: Wireless HDMI 4 Receivers and Transmitter,Up to 6 RXs,No Hot,Extender Plug and Play,165FT/50M,2.4/5G Wirelessly Simultaneous Expansion for Multiple Screens from Laptop and Camera to TVs,Projectors : Electronics
Interesting. This solves the connectivity issue...I'm guessing I could simply use a Broadlink IR device to operate something like an NVIDIA Shield in a closet somewhere...I was hoping someone had an integration for it...but at least I know I can make it work,,,
Thanks!
You could also use a device that supports a Radio Frequency (RF) remote control. My personal favorite is the AppleTV 4k. You could also use a Roku, as its remote controls are also RF based. I am pretty sure that one Roku can support more than 1 Roku remote being paired with it - but you should verify that before spending the $.
I believe the Sofabaton X1S and X2 remote controls are also RF connected to their Base Units (i.e. hubs) which handle the IR duties. This is very similar to the old Logitech Harmony Hub based remote controls, in case you still have one of those hanging around like many of us! ![]()
This version supports IR where RX device has an IR receiver and transmits it back to the TX device hooked up to the source.
Thanks...I use Sofabatons and Broadlink right now. The other point is while a lot of discussion has been on cabling and connectivity...I'm looking for a server that can take one stream (hardwired or wireless) and can feed up to 4 TV's wirelessly to some app on a smart TV.
I only started here because my first thought when buying new tech is automation...I'll be jumping to video forums for the rest I guess.
Thanks to ALL for the input!!
That is probably a good idea.
This isnβt a home automation problem to solve (for the most part).
