Hi Folks, I have an outdoor faucet onto which I'd like to put a leakgopher. Problem is the valve is installed between 2x4 and hidden behind a removable panel. To turn off the valve I have to popout the panel, turn it off, then remove the handle to be able to place the panel flush on the wall. So I need to know if the leak gopher valve (Series 1000 3/4inch) assembly will fit between 2x4's.
I installed a 3/4" leak gopher valve a number of years ago and had no clearance issues in a 2X4 wall. I'd estimate the motor portion of the valve is approx. 1/2" below flush with the outside face of the framing but it will depend how well centered the copper pipe is relative to the framing in your particular case. I also took the opportunity to replace the main shutoff inside the house with a low profile valve handle unit to prevent the handle from interfering with the access panel (whose installation is sadly still on the ever expanding to-do list).
