I am new to RM. Why doesn't this work? The dimming is always 90% all day and night.
Post logs from when that rule executes.
If this is your current rule, it won't do anything at all unless you manually run it because your only trigger is disabled. Beyond that, I second the suggestion to provide logs for the rule, as those are the best help when troubleshooting -- plus a description of what you actually expect to happen. This is shown in your screen shot as the italic red under Trigger Events.
So RED = Disabled. I have a lot to learn. Thanks!
Yes there is a lot to learn but the great thing is you don't need to know it all day 1. Just get started like you are and as you learn more your rules will evolve. Then of course there are a lot of knowledgeable people here generous of their time to help others when you hit a speed bump.
Correct me if I am wrong, but you may need to turn your dimmer into a scene controller and remove the physical control. I know Zooz switches and dimmers have this type of control. If setup as a scene controller, the device behaves as buttons and will allow you to use button presses as the trigger and set the dim level based on whatever conditions you decide. If the physical control is still enabled, I believe (may be wrong here), the dimmer will turn on at the last level briefly before being set to your desired RM-controlled level.
