Help with lighting rule

C7 on latest

I haven't changed this rule in forever but the behavior has changed

now when I turn on the light and it instantly turns off

I has to do with the off section of course...its not clear whether its an AND or OR (could that have changed how that part works)? Suggestions?

Not sure if you inadvertently changed things or how it would have worked initially with the setup as shown in your image. You have told it to turn OFF the light when the rule is activated.

Try clicking on the red "OFF" circled in my image below and it should change to a green "ON". (PS... if you clicked on that while it was green before the issue occured, that is how it could have inadvertantly changed)

Thank you THAT fixed it...

I'm still unclear what that box is for.....

we have rules for turning on light and rules for turning off light

What is the purpose of activation settings....sorry for being ignorant

The box is so that you can specify the condition for individual lights on activation.

If you are using different settings for different modes (or time frames, or several other ways to set up different schemes with the same lights), you might only want some of them to go on when the rule is activated. I actually do this with my hall lights. ALL my hall lights come on during the day and early evening. However, at night, they do not.
