Help with house light Rule

Hello,

I am pretty new to hubitat, I have an issue coming up with a rule that works that when a light switch is turn off it actually keeps power on to the bulbs.

I have a front door 3 way light switch with a second switch around the hall that controls RGBW light bulbs on the outside garage. The problem is, sometimes the light switch gets turn off (manually) and thus power is lost to the bulbs. I would like to create a rule that if the off switch is pressed, it will turn off the lights without losing actual power,

I currently using a inovelli dimmer switch with a GE AUX for the 3 way. The bulbs are tuya flashed with tasmota.

Any ideas?

THanks

i have exact same use case in our house in mi.. The other issue is that if my wife or someone turns the switch off I assume they DO want the lights off. So I handle that.. Because by default with these lights i am using when power is restored the come back on..

here is my rule

Thanks, can you walk me through how you did this. I am not seeing the option in Basic Rules

The rule above is using RM. Not basic rules.

the second check for off with the delay 15 is because if they DO want them on the way now without an automation is to turn the swhitch off and quickly back on.. then they stay on.. If i didnt have the second check they would always turn off and the wife would be pissed.

an alternative i have done with other switches is just to hard wire the ltwo black wires behind the switch so that the lights always have power, and then just write rules to montor the switch one and off/and light states and operate on the light accordingly..

Here is an example for one of those type rules I have
these are a little more complicated since they are dimmer switches and i have two of them.. i h ave one to turn on and a simple automation rule to link the two

Are you using the Red series switch? It has an option to disable physical off by enabling ā€œ52. Smart Bulb modeā€ with Inovelliā€™s community driver.

I think that it will also work with the ā€œDisable local load Controlā€ toggle if you are using the Hubitat Stock driver - ā€œInovelli Z-Wave Smart Scene Dimmer S2ā€.
