I have three commercial electric retrofit recessed lights in my kitchen that can turn into a nightlight when turned on/off/on. I just installed a GE Jasco dimmer switch and I was wondering if there is a rule that I can create where the lights switch to nightlight mode at a certain time. Appreciate any help I can get!
I think you are going to run into a few issues here.
- Are these dimmable in the first place? Odd that dimmable lights have a switch sequence to get them into a different mode.
- You likely won't be able to cycle these correctly, these dimmers don't fully remove power and you are going to also probably going to have a limitation as to how fast they can cycle.
- Dimmers ramp up and down which might not work for this sequence.
You probably would be better off using motion sensors and turning lights on to a particular level by mode (day/night/sleep).
