I can't seem to get different bulbs/color settings by Mode working? I have set Mode properly and assigned in the Motion Lighting/Mode App by mode color bulb. When Mode changes the lights do not make the change. I am clearly missing something simple.
Bulbs are Sylvania Zigbee and are working fine with HE.
Thanks in advance.. - B
I'm thinking out loud - can you turn on logging in that app? I'm not at a place where I can check, but if so, you could pull up the logs and see if it's spitting out an error when you change modes. Some of the apps allow you to log actively. Again, just thinking out loud. Maybe you can check for that option. Helped me to figure out a problem I was having with an app.

In addition to what @april.brandt said, also show the app main page.
Will pull logs now... Here is app main page. The Alexa routine noted runs the App fine.
Logs below for Kitchen Lights included in App. Evening Mode should have fired at 4:47 PM but looks like it did not. I ran routine ran at 4:50 via Alexa Command. I don't see an error?
how is evening mode firing? What are you using to trigger the mode?
Alexa... edit to that.
I ran via Alexa but not the App.. I did try the Evening Alexa Command and it did work.
And none of the changes happened as logged?
Yes, but were individual voice Alexa commands I sent when Mode did not fire at 4:47.
Ok so you verbally set the mode? I must be missing something. The mode changing, should trigger the lights to set according to your mode change. How is that trigger happening? That is where you'll find your errors. So catch me up on what I missed and help me from the beginning. What do you do to trigger the mode change? Or what happens. Are you basing it on time? A rule? Verbally. You should be able to click to change mode to trigger that rule. Can you do that? And log that please?
I didn't trigger the mode...When the mode did not fire at 4:47 I verbally trigger lights via Alexa at 4:50.... not using Mode.
I have tried many different configs with Mode and none have fired
I would really like to know how you triggered the mode. Can you post screen shots of your rule? The one that did not fire at 4:47. I think if we get your mode trigger set right, then the lights will set. Thanks!
@april.brandt - I believe I have confused things here... The log shows the lights triggered via an Alexa command, "Light X on" - Not a Mode Command. I have never successfully triggered the routine when the Mode changes.
Here is what I suggest to simplify what I am doing wrong: I have a routine now to be triggered by a new Mode "Late Morning" set to trigger Kitchen Lights Green in an hour (9AM). Screenshots of Mode Settings and Mode App below. Lets see what logs say after 9AM.

Logs below as of 9:05AM... As you can see the Mode did change to Late Morning but nothing was triggered?
I've always turned to Rule Machine for most complex automations. I'll need to get home and plug this stuff in to mode lighting to see how it should be set up. Maybe someone will pop in in the meantime and provide some input on this automation. I'd really need to get home first so that I'm not guessing. But I don't want to leave you hanging either.
Hey April, no hurry here.. I messed around with this since getting it a week ago (spent most of my time transferring devices from Wink) and finally gave up and asked for help. I did give Rule Machine a go before trying it in Motion/Mode App. I don't care how we make it work. I think it's just a matter of learning the correct routine to set color lights according to schedule for the HE.
I appreciate the help.
April - I gave it another go in Rules Machine and think I can make it work. I was able to trigger the color bulbs by time of day, however when conditions for the rule were True it seemed to disable other Motion Lights I had set not in the rule (Closet etc...) I solved that by making the time of day conditions for True just a couple of minutes long so lights fired but then became False allowing Motion Apps to work again.
I'm glad you worked it out. Mode manager is not for me. I looked at it, and it's not going to trigger lights, it just sets the mode. then you would need a rule to trigger it. Rule Machine just seems to do everything anyway. If you want your rules to work in harmony, post in everything rule machine topic and get some help with it. It's robust and it seems that you're getting the hang of it fairly quickly. Good for you for tackling it and thinking outside of the box. I'm happy for you. The gang here is great, so definitely keep posting those questions. Sorry I was so slow at getting back to you, but I'm not at the same time because you rocked this.

Yep.. Got it. Seems Schedule In Rules Machine is the right answer.
Thanks Again for the help.
