Hi, quick question.
I am planning on getting myself some lcd control unites around the house, where my dashboard is going to be, for more ease of use for my family.
Problem is that getting 3 or more lcd screens for this task can be quite expensive.
The Rpi zero or B is cheap, but adding the rapberry lcd 7" screen is not.
The screen alone in europe costs around 70 USD
Buying myself a pad of some sorts seems overkill for this task alone.
And the cheapest i could find was the lenovo m7, that costs around 100 USD.
The google home hub is nice, but i dont know of any way to get a kiosk into it, without hacking it.
So, do anyone have good and cheap suggestion for me, for this task?
I've been using Teclast tablets purchased from AliExpress. For 100 bucks you should be able to find a half decent one. They run Fully Kiosk but make sure if you are buying a cheap tablet to get one running full Android because the cut down Android Go OS used on some of the cheap ones has some limitations with FK I believe.
Over here in France Amazon sell several 10 inch Android tablets for less than 70 euros. I bought one, but I haven't set it up as a dashboard yet (waiting for ActionTiles to become compatible - still in beta).
kindles arnt badly priced
Goes for around 90 USD in Norway, so still abit steep. But it looks like i just have to pay that for a pad here.
Could always buy a rpi zero or B model and salvage a touchscreen from a broken laptop.
