If I remember correctly you've worked with the Home Assistant people doing their Rheem integration. It looks like they've at least started a thermostat driver. If this gives a good starting point I'm happy to help with testing.
Correct. But Iād still need a thermostat. I worked with them on the water heater but I had one to test with. I would need a thermostat to get this working. Building integrations without a dice in hand is just too much work.
Actually, I think I have the old version in a closet. the one with the separate box for wireless connectivity. Will that work for you to start? Uses the same app. You can have it if you pay shipping, but let me make sure that my hubs hasn't tossed it. PM me so I don't miss a reply.
I added better retries and error handling and pushed out a new version. Hopefully this helps!
Upgraded! I will try it out and see how it works out.
Thank you!
Did you ever get a thermostat? I downloaded the current HA version from the Discord server and it seems to work as intended in Home Assistant (and is more responsive than the older Hubitat integration). If not I guess I'll have to try to figure out MQTT.
I'm afraid not. Yeah, HA will definitely be faster than the old integration since MQTT is real-time. We could get the same speed in HE but like I said, too much work without me having a device in hand.
I've looked around and I can't find it. I have no idea where my husband put it. I was hoping that it was in the storage room that we cleaned out, but no go.
No worries. I've been busy fighting with building a different integration anyway!
@april.brandt did you ever find that thermostat, would be great to be able to see or control the furnace and AC in He.
Still no luck.
@bill.d did you ever get the Econet thermostat working with Hubitat?
Nope. I'm moving soon, so I don't have any remaining interest. If you are really gung ho then probably the best route is via Home Assistant and then integrate from HA into Hubitat.
