Edit: Turns out my issue was an expired token. Logging out and back in renewed the token and it all works now.
Notifications to my iPhone worked fine about 4 months ago. I haven't received any in the last 3 months, probably because none have been triggered. Last night I tested it and they are not being received.
Is there an easy way to send a test notification to an iPhone device? Any advice on troubleshooting this issue is greatly appreciated.
Then, connect to your Hubitat hub via a web browser or through the app via tools -> Connect to Hub
Navigate to “Devices” and then search for or go to the one where the name matched the device name in step 1 above. From that screen, enter text in the “Device Notification” area (2) below, and click on the button above where you entered the text. You should get a notification on your phone when it is setup correctly.
Thank you very much for this. I thought there was a method to test, but I couldn't remember where to find it.
Just now, I looked at Notifications under Tools in the app, and was presented with a message that the token had expired. After logging off and back in, the notifications work fine. I guess I was still able to connect to my hub via the local LAN but was not receiving notifications due to the expired token.
Do you know if there is a regular timeout period for tokens?
Does this mean selecting "Connect to Hub" from the Tools menu? I didn't try that. My phone, connected to my home LAN, was seeing the Hub without issue. I assume the trouble was a lack of authentication with the notification server? I saw the invalid token message when I tried to view past notifications from Tools menu.
I am going from memory since I don't have the 1.x app anymore, but I think you go into the settings and then tap on the name or your hub, or possibly there is a "Select Hub" or "Change Hub" option in there. It will take you through the same thing like when you first log in (without asking for password again), you select a hub then a device to attach to.
