Help removing rules

I went through my rules and removed several. Now I want to export the remaining rules, BUT the removed rules arfe on the export list! How do I get them off of the list? I suspect they must be "soft" deleted?

Can you describe where you are seeing this and how you go there or provide a screenshot that would illustrate it?

I see what happened, when I first selected rule manager -> i->export rules it created a shortcut on the apps list called export/clone rules. If I select that I see the deleted ones, if I select it from the rule manager, I don't. Odd but I got to where I wanted to be.

Does anyone know if there is a way to bulk delete rules?

Normally, that app (how this tool is implemented) disappears when it's done, unless maybe you interrupted the process. My guess is you were just seeing cached data while it was still there. If you remove it, it will re-add itself next time you use the tool (and delete itself when done -- again, normally not something you actually need to worry about). So, that's probably all good in the end!

There is no way to remove multiple apps at the same time unless they are all child apps of the same parent app and you want to remove them all, in which case removing the parent app will also remove all of its child apps. (If you want to save a few, you could export them and then import them after removing and reinstalling the parent app -- maybe what you were trying to do here? If not, that's part of what you'd try. But removing them one by one instead may or may not be easier.)

I need to bulk delete rules, not apps..

Rules are apps, so all of the above applies (Rule Machine or Rule Machine Legacy would be the parent app).

Got it. So when I get my user apps ready , which will replace all 107 of my "rules", I can just drop rule manager. Then re add it later as needed

Question: If I remove the rule manager app, can it be restored from a backup?

Just re add it from built in apps

If you need to restore rules themselves, you will have to restore that from backup

I exported them into one file, do you know if they will restore like that? edit: docs say just import them. What I really need for this test is a mass rule disable tool

They will restore the way they are exported.
