I have a Gen 1, and I followed the Ring instructions for 'resetting' the device which put it into pairing mode and used this driver.
I pre-installed that driver so when it connected to HE the fingerprint would pick it, but you can also manually choose that driver.
Have you tried following Ring's instructions for resetting that device?
