Help Needed - HomeSeer Floodlight Sensor G2

Hi All,

Running into some configuration issues with my HomeSeer Floodlight Sensor G2 (HS-FLS100+ G2). Previously, I swapped out my old “dumb” sensor with this device to report motion and lux and have more granular control over my lights. That worked pretty well after I figured out how to setup a rule to control the lights since the built in Lux and PIR settings didn’t do quite what I wanted.

Fast forward to now, I just got two outdoor Hue floodlights and have tried to change all the settings I can within HE to keep the switch component on and just pass commands to the lights themselves, but I cannot figure it out. HomeSeer’s documentation mentions “Smart Sensor Mode”, but I just can’t seem to modify the settings to get that.

I’m hoping I don’t have to take the light off and rewire it and there’s just a setting (or settings) I’m missing, but the goal is to keep the switch load always on (kind of like my Zooz switch with “smart bulb” mode).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using the built-in Homeseer Floodlight Sensor G2 driver? In that there is a Preference for Floodlight Control. You can set it to be Z-Wave only. That way it does not (usually) turn the switch on/off (and thus cut power to the lights).

I have basically the same setup, two smart RGBW bulbs (ZigBee) powered in my front floodlight using this. The only disadvantage I have found is that the Homeseer does not "remember" it's last state. So if you lose power, the switch will stay off (and thus your bulbs will not come on because they have no power). Easy enough to turn it back on... but it is usually a case of me forgetting (or not knowing there was a power failure) and finding out when I troubleshoot why the lights did not come on.

Thanks, Snell. Yes, using the built-in driver. I have that setting enabled, but something seems to keep overriding the switch setting.

I was doing some testing and found that although the switch status showed off, power to the lights was still on (which I believe is due to the Z-Wave control per my rule). What I cannot figure out is how, when or why power is randomly cut after the fact as the timing doesn’t seem to follow the rule or the settings.

Here is a snap of the settings I’ve selected.

I want the PIR setting off at 30 seconds as I use the motion component to trigger other rules. Another oddity is that the Lux Threshold Settings always changes to “Turn Light on by PIR” despite me saving the preferences and them appearing to stick. When I reopen the device view, the though, it’s always reverted back to PIR.

Ultimately, I’m glad to hear the configuration should work since yours is. Now just need to figure out what to change to get there.

Thanks, also, for the heads up about the mains disconnecting. I’ll be sure to keep that in the back of my mind.

Here are what my preferences are (not sure if they will help at all). Just make sure that any Rules you have do not switch the power on the Floodlight itself.
