I just plugged in my new hub out of the shrink wrap and went to register. It checked my firmware began to update and bricked. This is joke what kind of a consumer is so unfriendly. Is there anything I can besides send it back Mike.
I can ping so its alive on network but in lala land.
Try going to http://[your hub's ip address]:8081
This should allow you to revert the firmware to the previous version. Afterwards, you can try to upgrade the firmware again.

So if I cant see it on my router or ping it is it dead? Is there a hard reset? I tried to apply a firmware update and it crashed. It only has a blue light lit. Thanks for advice. Howard
The blue light means that update got stuck. The hub should still be accessible through port 8081. It may have gotten another IP address from the router, though - please check connected devices on the route page.
