I want to hook into the switch control and use an Aeotec Nano Switch to control when it is on and off. I'm not 100% sure on the correct way to hook up with switch. The side in the picture below with the wire is the line 24V. Currently there is a jumper that completes the circuit and the unit is controlled but a dial of min/hr. My plan is to set that to 60min/hr and then be able to fully control the ERV via HE.
Is it possible you need a simple dry contact closure there? if so, the aeotec nano is not the right device, as it switches 120v only. Some people have modified smart plugs to make the relay contacts "dry" ie isolating them from the line voltage. But its hacky. Another solution is to use a smart plug with a DC wall wart plugged in to it driving the coil of a small relay. Still hacky. Or this neat device.
