Hello fam. Please help me create a rule that will alert me to when one of my First Alert ZWAVECOMBO’s has a low battery.
I know how to create an individual rule for each device, but I’d like to create a single rule that reports back the name of the device that is at a low battery state.
Trigger:
Battery level is below 20%
Actions:
Send message/SMS — message should include the name of the smoke detector device and the level of the battery
Send the message every few days, but not more often
Another, very equivalent method is to use a Custom Rule in HSM.
Very similar - and allows a slight bit more flexibility.
(I have a number of rules that turn on a "Alarm" switch when they fire. This makes it easier to ensure that action is taken when the rule fires.)
I know how to create a rule that would alert me if a device alarmed, but how do I set the message to include the name of the device so that I know which one need attention? I have several devices, so I’d like to create a single rule that monitors all my smoke detectors and triggers based on any of them alarming. I would like the message sent to include only the name of the device that triggered the alarm. Would that be as simple as including %device% in the message?
