Hi, all I am new to HE. I got my hub almost a week ago and have been troubleshooting and trying daily to get it up and running and devices added. I bought some of IKEA's Matter devices and have been trying to add them to HE with no success. The thread border router I use is a Google TV streamer 4K, and I have a HE C8 Pro. When adding the device from google to hubitat, i get to a screen where it says "device added, then i get stuck on a hubitat screen same as title of post. I have included a few photos if it will help.
It's not clear from your screenshots since some in-betweens on both Google and Hubitat are missing: are you following the steps from the "Share and manage Matter-enabled devices from multiple Matter-certified apps" section, specifically, "Step 2: share the devices with your primary platform app (Google Home)," here?
Even more specifically, in step 7, you'll need to tap "Use pairing code" (it's possible "Share with QR code" would work too, but I have not tried that without commissioning a device). Then, from Hubitat, you can add from the Devices page of the hub UI (your hub's IP address in any web browser, findmyhub.hubitat.com if you're not sure, or "Connect to hub" in the mobile app if you like having a bunch of unnecessary UI in your way). Then hit the Add Device button and select Matter, type or paste in the code, and see what happens.
(I would not suggest the mobile app for this, although if you try the QR code instead of the plain pairing code above, you might be able to scan it in the Devices tab of the mobile app rather than the hub admin UI -- but again, I have never tried that for an existing device. Maybe that is what you were trying and failed?)
Thanks for your response, and let me clarify a bit. I first commissioned the devices on the Google Home app using my Thread border router (Google TV Streamer). I then selected the device in Google Home, "linked Matter apps and services", then "link apps and services". This is how the new code is generated to be shared with Hubitat.
The first picture shows the screen that comes up at this point. I select 'Use pairing code' because Hubitat is not in the list of apps at the bottom of the page. Next I open Hubitat and click 'Add Device', 'Matter Devices', and input the provided code.
In the Hubitat app, the device goes through the pairing process and reports 'device connected', as seen in picture 2. The next screen I am presented with is picture 3. This is where the app gets stuck, and that circle never stops spinning.
The process above is what happens when using the mobile app. When using the desktop web interface, after adding the provided code from Google Home app, i am presented with the attached picture
Google Home App puts the device into pairing mode when the code is generated and all devices (hub etc.) are on the same wireless network.
Im have a bit of a problem with this. Ive added the device in Google Home, open the added device click settings then link Matter apps, then Link apps and at the bottom I use Pairing code. Open the Hubitat UI on my computer add matter devices and input the generated code. I can see that Google Home has put the device into pairing mode but when I click on Start pairing it goes to the pairing screen then 1 scond later comes back to the original screen where I put in the temp pairing code. Will not add the device
