So, you want music on your speakers to resume playing when you come home, no matter who it is and whatever was playing before they left? Your house has a soundtrack running 24/7? I'd find that annoying as hell but to each his own I guess. You could still do that with virtual switches. Just one for each speaker. Or you could wait for a device variable. But I wouldn't hold your breath.
Correct but it only plays if it was playing so some days we have it on other not. It would be even better if I could set it up so that if I was the only one home and left and I returned it started playing but not if my wife came home. But that's adding a more complex set-up so if I can just get the basics it would be a start. 
Yeah, this sounds like three virtual switches -- "X should be playing." Flipped on if the player is started manually, flipped off if the player is stopped manually, and on return home each player's state is set to whatever the virtual switch is set to.
