So, I got assigned this ridiculous username, user3516. I'd like to change it to the username I used when I was with Smartthings: Pacman45.

This was a welcome change by Discourse platform a while ago. Before randomizing the user names, the default was the beginning of the email address of the account, which was a terrible idea at the time. The user is allowed to change the name within 7 days of joining the community. While the 7 days is an arbitrary period imposed by the platform, it is short because changing the name breaks any links that user may have shared. After the grace period a user can tag the support team as you did, and one of the community admins would be able to make the change, like I just did

Thank you so much. I’m sorry for maligning the username assignment protocol. I likely missed the invitation to switch the username when I first joined the group. I am still very much impressed with Hubitat and the terrific community it has engendered. I don’t know why I resisted switching for so long (inertia), but now that I have, I’m so glad I did!
