Has anyone tried these Swidget

This seems pretty cool build your own switch or Outlet. Even have a 20amp option.

Interesting, A bit pricey if you had a lot of outlets to replace. Good to see they have a Z-Wave option.

Yup. Cool, but expensive to the point of being cost prohibitive in my opinion.

$110-130 per outlet.... Lol

Are they available now? Seems like you can only pre-order them. For z-wave versions of their devices, at least.

I hear you on the cost but...they are at Lutron prices...so the question is...is it dead reliable and awesome? If so...I'd consider that price for a dimmer w/motion/humid/temp that's mains powered. However being a startup...I'm guessing reliability/firmware isn't quite there yet.

Yeah...now if Lutron would just make a dimmer/switch with a motion sensor built in.... (or someone else would make a zigbee one)

Still do not understand why GE/Jasco are the only ones making dimmers/switches like that.

It's wifi or zwave... So will be as reliable as those protocols are - at best.

No way I'm paying $110+ for a wall outlet/switch though.

If they can get the price down to $70 or less I would consider it though - even though the motion/temp/humidity module is pretty fugly.

Agreed on the reliability...which makes it an expensive test.

Yeah that's way too much for an outlet and sensor for sure. If you can't tell I'm just really hoping the dimmer/motion gets more love in the future...

I like the idea a lot.

I'm rooting for them philosophically, just not with my $$$.

I’ve read a review of someone using a zwave version with Home Assistant, so they must be available.

Yeah little crazy with the prices for sure. If I knew 100% they would be coming out with future connectivity technologies and a little more about the company I'd buy a few. Asking over $100 for products in this space when your new to market? Definitely not the cheapest but there's other companies with lots of overpriced products with no unique features and butt ugly.
Zwave alliance 1 product, not sure how that works. Wouldn't they need Certification for all of their modules?

Is staff have a plan to make Driver for SWiDGET insert, to deployd full capability

This New Zwave 800 serie

I'm not staff, but I will say that they don't (and can't likely) run out and buy every device out there.

If swidget sends them a demo or loaner version I'm sure they would make a driver for it. If not, then you may have to rely on someone from the community making it.

Also for those playing along at home, that zwave air sensor shown in the previous post in a swidget outlet would be an eye watering $168/ea:

The cheapest swidget zwave controlled outlet is $114/ea.

Zwave control + temp/humidity/motion = $154

You can judge for yourself how much of a premium you would pay for this admittedly neat product.

Oh those are just expensive because of the z-wave chip + certification is expensive, you say??? Well the wifi version is only $12 cheaper.

Just saying.

At least in my house, most outlets are at the level of my shin. Not at a height where I normally evaluate motion or air quality. Hard pass on this one for me .....

My biggest problem with these (ok, second largest, after the current price) is that you evidently, unless I’ve missed something, can’t buy a device with a ‘blank’ module spot, to be filled in later.

If these were, say, $50 each, even for outlets, it would be an IMHO no-brainer to put these everywhere and pop in modules as you go.

With their pricing, I would expect a $20 bill for a blank.

Well, maybe that was a bad example.

You could use the air sensor in a wall switch/dimmer as well/instead. That probably would have been a better example than the outlet.

That is better, but still not terribly attractive me.

I'm with you. Even my light switches don't often point in the proper direction for motion sensing. And the HD camera module? Even more ridiculous, IMO.

I'll give them credit, though... It is innovative.
