[GUIDE] IKEA Firmware Updates

I’m encountering some strange battery percentages with the blinds and I thought I had resolved this. Once again, a bunch of them are showing over 100% charge. Latest FWs have been applied. Any suggestions or is this to be expected?

This issue appeared before, please see the second post in this thread. Cheers.

Thanks for pointing that out.
It’s strange because some of my blinds show up properly and others were fine until they weren’t.

Any particular reason why you don’t update the driver code with the line changes? I just wonder if I’ll break the percentages for the ones that are displaying properly.

That driver is not mine. I don't own any IKEA smart blinds, yet

Oh… Well that’s a pretty solid explanation :joy:

They are discounting their roll up blinds/shades and now have cellular blinds/shades.

I updated one of my IKEA blinds to the latest firmware. Now I have the battery issue, showing 200%.

I tried to implement your code change but unfortunately without luck.

What makes me wonder is that the above shown line items are not exactly line 104 and 105 but 105 and 106 (see shot below). If I try to adjust/replace those lines I cannot save the change, I get an error message.

What am I doing wrong, any ideas.
Sorry if I overlooked the solution somewhere.

Thanks

The battery of attribute being 16 is what is being reported as 200% after the firmware update. All my change does was divide attribute 16 by 2 (16/2). You might have to play with it a bit to get the syntax correct if you’re not familiar with coding.

I got it to work, thanks. To get the blinds updated was more a hassle. But finally all looks fine now.

Thanks

The following firmware versions are now available:

  • Update: 117C-2805-01000038 (1.0.38) → 117C-2805-01000044 (1.0.44) - Bulb CWS (LED2111G6, LED2110R3)
  • Update: 117C-4105-00010006 (1.0.6) → 117C-4105-01010007 (1.1.7) - STOFTMOLN Ceil Lamp (T2105)

We should now be up-to-date with Release Version: 1.28.1 - 15th Jan 2025. I updated the original post.

As usual, don't update if the device is working properly or if you can't afford to brick it

Have fun!

Should have listened to you @dandanache ..! :joy:

I've updated my Fyrtur to 24.4.13 and now i'm stuck in this situation:

Does anyone have an idea to help me get my blind working again?
Is downgrading FW even an option?

STYRBAR Remote Control E2002 Multi-button
Firmware update - Experience Data Point for others that follow

Hubitat Platform C-5 on 2.4.1.167 (and .170)
E2002 was functioning fine for a year now but decided to go ahead and upgrade to x-02040016 while doing some other work with the thought that some improvements might be gained.

Probably a lesson in leaving what works alone but anyway....

Upgrade took multiple attempts to get started including one outright decline/refusal from the device itself. Don't know what that was about but eventually did the "press a button on device and THEN start firmware upgrade attempt" thing and got it started. It was the slowest firmware download/upgrade I've ever experience, maybe 45 minutes or more...but I left it alone and it completed.

Upon completion the device looked paired, looked fully functional from Driver commands, but physical depression of buttons went unrecognized. Furthermore the Device Data presented only the top two items in the (now fully populated) list below.

|Endpoint Id|01|
|Firmware MT|117C-11CB-02040016|
|Hw Version|01|
|Manufacturer|IKEA of Sweden|
|Model|Remote Control N2|
|Software Build|2.4.16|
|Type|E2001|

Realized the version of @dandanache driver being used was old, went in and updated that.

Still not getting button functionality, and despite being located right by a Zigbee bridge, I followed the advice of threads talking about getting some Ikea devices very close to the hub for pairing for a more thorough handshaking transaction.

Presto....all is working as it should now.

Thanks to all that contributed to the software and the knowledge base getting this stuff to work.

Having about 20 shades I can share a bit of my experience, I am running latest fw.

1 Can you control the shade on the two buttons?
2 Every 3 will need a repeater (I use Ikea)
3 Do not control the curtains all the same at the same time
4 I use a refresh command every half hour

I must say I have had a really hard time making them all work, they still drop of the network from time to time, so far this is the best.

How did you do the refresh command every 30 mins?

Data point for others doing a firmware upgrade to an Ikea E1812 button.

Patience is golden and getting it started was very much an exercise in repeating OP's 1-8 Step Program (advice).

HE C-5 running 2.4.3.158. Ikea Device sitting 1 meter from hub.

Total time 1 hour 32 minutes. Yes, you read that right....at a Mars Rover transmission pace.

But alas it is Thanksgiving, I am grateful it could be updated !
