I have a group called Hall Down Lights controlled by two switches. Each switch controls
its own circuit, but doesn't control the group. However using the App it works fine. I have tried all the suggestion to no avail.
What do you mean with this? Physical switches or some switch device on the hub? A physical switch (or any device) that is a member of the group does not control the group; you need to use the group device (which will be created when you make the group -- on your hub) to do that.
Also, what app? The Groups and Scenes app on your hub? The mobile app?
Which suggestions?
If there is a problem and not just a misunderstanding of what a group does, have you tried hitting Done in the group app (your screenshot above)?
A Physical Switch is for example, a Z-Wave switch that is connected directly to a physical device like a lighting circuit. Besides controlling those circuits, it is my understand that they can also control a group. Am I wrong? Yes, I have clicked on DONE, and all suggestions on the Hubitat Community related to this issue.
The App I'm referring to is the G&S app on the hub.
If you look at my screen shot. I am using the group device. Is it not correct?
No, your screenshot shows the group app, not the group device. There is no control available from this page, hence my question: how are you doing it?
But I think this might be it:
No, that is not correct. Adding a device to a group makes the group device (essentially a virtual device created for this purpose by the app) control devices in that group. But devices that group do not have any effect on each other -- not unless you create some automation that does this (certainly a possibility).
My point was that stating what these are would be more helpful; that way, others won't be have to guess what search results you happened to pull up. What I mentioned was just one possibility -- but so far I don't see any actual problems, which is probably why nothing you've tried has changed anything.
You might want to take a look at the built-in Mirror app. It might be more of what you’re looking for.
I have a few Mirror routines set up, but notice their app activity doesn't show up in Logs (unless the master/slave devices themselves report there).
Is there a way to turn on Logging for Mirror's child apps?
Not that I can see.
I see what your saying now. I need a trigger. I added it and it works now. Thanks.
If you can please quote the post you are responding to (and combine multiple successive posts into a single reply; you can break up quotes as done above), that would make things clearer in the future. In any case, glad you found a solution!
