Graber shade randomly becomes unresponsive

I have 20 battery operated Graber shades, setup by room, all controlled by 3 remotes AND my Hubitat C8, ethernet connected on platform version 2.4.2.157. None of the blinds are on any automation and they all use the custom driver "Springs Window Fashions Roller Shade" from github.

One shade, Bedroom Right, has miss-behaved for about a year (worked fine for several years on the old C7 hub and for a while on the C8 hub). This is the only shade to randomly go silent.

In past, to get the blind working/connected, I would do a Power Shutdown then unplug the C8 for a minute then power up. The blind would then operate correctly. I have had "debug" turned on for the Bedroom Blinds for some time. It appears the blind receives a command to close (change position) but for some reason the "position" parameter is not set to "0". I do not see the reason why? Below are screen prints of problem.

Bedroom left: always works

Bedroom Right: constantly fails

In "Devices", I issued "Refresh" command then "Close" command which changed the set position to "0" in the log but the Blind did not move and the "Set Level" stays at 65

I then manually changed the "Set Level" to "0" and the blind closed.

These are the "Rooms" and Z-Wave screen prints:

I am at a loss as to why the blind does not respond when the remote instructs all the blinds to close (one blind at a time, not using groups or virtual as I could not get the coding to work back on the C7 years ago).

Update:
just closed the blind using the remote, blind closed but the "Position" reported remained at 65. I had to go into the "Bedroom Right" device setting and manually set the "Position" to "0".

Not sure why the "Position" will not report correctly.

You might want to post this on the Developers thread for that User Driver to get their attn.

i had problem with graber (actually bali, but they are same ) shade starting misbehaving a couple of times. essentially becoming irresponsive/randomly responsive.

i traced it to zwave light switch near by that was going crazy and I filling air with some nonsense that prevented shades from receiving commands properly (everything zwave-else was working fine).

i solved it by power cycling switch

Thanks, will repost. never thought of posting on developers site.

Smith ... that is very interesting. we have a Minoston Z-wave mini smart plug not 8 feet from the blind antenna. this plug is controlled by simple rule to turn on a 9pm and off at 10pm. I unplugged the device for a few minutes and also turned on "Debug". will monitor to see if it is creating interference. if problem continues, will unplug for a few days and see if the problem goes away.

4 posts were split to a new topic: Setting up Bali Shades/Blinds

unplugging the plug to reset it had no effect on the blind. the blind still closed via remote but did not update its "position" to "0"
