Looks like Google just received a small victory in the ongoing battle.
Seems like they are rolling out new firmware for audio devices so they can belong to multiple speaker groups.
I saw this in the news and I was a bit confused. It mentioned people not being able to create speaker groups and not being able to change the volume of the group.
I have a number of Chromecast Audio devices (now discontinued I think) as well as Chromescasts in my TVs. I've had no issues for years when I have created speaker groups or changed the volume of individual or grouped devices using the volume nob on my phone or in the audio section on my device.
Can someone with more knowledge of this explain more?
