Google Home -> Hubitat Integration Can't get past selecting Hubitat

Hoping someone can help me. I've tried all the suggestions listed in previous threads. I can't figure this one out. I have google Home and trying to re-add my Hubitat. Let me say that I've already had this integration running for some time but the other day I had an issue with Hubitat that I had to restore from the previous backup to keep running.

After that google home couldnt connect to the Hubitat and let me know when I'd try to control lights etc.

I removed Hubitat from Google Home. I then tried to re-add it. I get redirected to the OAuth flow that once authenticated I am asked which hub I want to have accessed and then after I click select it takes a while before ultimately giving me the dreaded "state" message saying it needs to be set on the parameter.

I get the message is sent on timeout.
Can someone tell me why my hub is not returning a list in time? I don't see anything in logs. Ive tried turning off the C-8 for 10 mins, rebooted everything multiple times.

I've tried adding multiple times too. Always same message. Why? To be clear it had been working for well over a year

thanks in advance

I assume the GH app is still installed on HE?

Have you deselected all the fans in there? Some fan drivers have a known issue with recent versions that prevents the integration from linking up.

You could also just de-select everything in the GH HE app except one basic switch to start with.

Thanks for getting back to me

The google home app is not installed on the HE. I unlinked and removed data from GH iOS app with the hope to start over. Since then I have not been able to get a reply back from HE after I select it. Just to make sure it was really seeing the Hubitat, I changed its name and it was immediately recognized in GH.

Any thoughts on what I can check? logs, etc?

What platform version are you running? Settings > Hub Info will show it.

The only two things that I know that cause the "State" error is either having NO devices selected on the HE app, or having certain incompatible devices selected (fans with unsupported drivers).

Are you absolutely sure you do not have he "Google Home" app listed on your Hubitat apps list? It may have been added back automatically during your setup attempts. Select just one basic switch device in there and try the setup again from the mobile google home app.

In case you haven't seen it before, here is the documentation for the native GH integration -- it m ay be worth reviewing in full to make sure no steps are being missed...

Thank you both for your replies.
Platform version is 2.3.9.201
I am getting the state error BEFORE being able to select any devices.
Using the guide @hydro311 posted, I am getting the state error BETWEEN steps 6 and 7. Once I select the hub in 6, it thinks for a while eventually rendering the state error.
I've attached the screen shot of my apps. I don't see Google Home there and if I add apps I only see the instructions for installing app.

I should mention though I had this issue on 2.3.9.176 as well. I just upgraded to see if I could get past it.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help thus far!

Replying to myself here. That app list didn't look right to me. As I mentioned this all started when I tried to restore from a backup after my C8 became unresponsive. I know I had more apps installed than that so I went back another week and restored from there.

Now I have a complete list of apps that I remember having before and Google Home app is in the list. I still am not able to get the list of devices back after step 6. I assume I should delete the app in Hubitat though and try again? I will wait to hear back on how I might proceed so I don't bork anything.

As an aside on backups. Seems that my automatic backups failed for over a week. Any backups I have after I got the hub back online (11/19) don't have all the apps from before the failures happened (11/14). The 11/13 backup is what Im using now.

Replying to myself again !

So I decided to not wait because I could always restore again. I went ahead and removed the GH app from HE. I was then able to proceed to step 7 from step 6.

@jtp10181 you mentioned there were only two ways that message happened but this scenario was not one of them. If you would like any other information to update any support docs I'd be happy to supply them.

Thanks for all the help. I will mark this a the solution.

Seems like possibly you just had a search filter set on the apps page, it happens to people all the time and they think the apps or devices are gone. Restoring the older backup may have cleared that.

So I am guessing that you did still have the GH app on HE, but could not see it due to a search filter. Or possibly something in the DB was corrupted causing the apps list to not fully show, but the GH app was still installed and not visible.

Not really sure how all your apps except 3 would just suddenly be missing?
