Is there a plan on updating the Google home to be able to make a contact a window or door for example?
Currently contacts all all treated the same and because doors in GH. But I would like the ability to make them windows. I'm sure there are others, for example motion sensors with different options as well.
I'm not clear what you are asking for. The only capability used on the Hubitat side is contactSensor. Are you asking for a window capability in Hubitat? I don't think that makes much sense in how capabilities are defined.
Hubitat Capabilities define the core capabilities of a device, not the details of how they are implemented. This issue is all on the Google Home side, if they are calling all contact sensors "doors" they need to open up a way for you to make it a "window" in Google Home.
Not exactly no. They explicitly in the GH hubitat app must put all contacts as doors and thats what they get imported as.
On the community one you could group them so that they get imported as the correct thing. However I'm unable to get that app working again right now.
What I'm going to look at is if I can add window as a capability to a driver and see if it then gets imported correctly. There is no default one that I can see though.
