So today I downloaded the Google Home app, created an account and linked everything together. This was something Nest wanted me to do in lieu of continuing their "works with Nest" support.
The big, happy home control family in our house now includes:
- Hubitat to control the lights, scenes and routines in the house
- ADT with Pulse as the alarm system and cameras
- Harmony Remote to control the A/V equipment
- Amazon Alexa for voice control and some routines
- and now... Google Home to control the Nest Hello and Nest Protects
I recently purchased Hubitat to move away from ADT Pulse as our primary controller. I'm happy with that move because of the more-robust support for newer devices and the ability to use buttons and scenes (something I still can't figure out why ADT ignores). But I do miss having the alarm panel as a trigger.
I notice in Google Home that it lists the various entry-point sensors on the ADT Pulse as devices. Is there any way to use those to trigger things in Hubitat? The two automations I miss the most are:
- Turn off all lights after the alarm has been armed away
- Turn on the entry hall lights when the front door is opened if the alarm is set
Any way to set these up?
