For those that made the jump to Gemini on your Google assistant devices, has it gotten any better than it was when first launched? I've considered making the change to Gemini because the assistant is getting worse.
I am still resisting the change. I only use a very few routines on Google Home and have duplicated them on Alexa. So far, in most cases, Alexa works better (Especially when trying to turn on one of two lights that have similar names - Back Den, Den Ceiling - Alexa works correctly, google turns on all lights in the den)
I updated to Gemini and have not had any problems. I did not have many problems using Google Assistant other than the occasional burps. I updated to keep the system current and up to date. I have one Google Nest display and 3 mini speakers. The interface to my Hubitat system has also been ok using Gemini. We use the Google devices occasionally to turn on and off lights that are not controlled by automations. It is a compromise that makes my wife happy.
Isn't that wild. My kids use Alexa, the free tier, and, at their place, Alexa is just awful. It doesn't understand anything most of the time.
I use the free tier as well. Have not updated to plus.
However, I can tell Alexa to "turn on the back den light", and it will turn on just the back den light. If I tell Google to do the same, it turns on ALL lights with "den" in the name.
I don't have that problem. It pretty much always does the correct lights and such it's most other things that have gotten flakey here
