GoControl GD00Z-8-GC Garage Door Opener not receiving command

Hey all. I've bought a GoControl GD001-8-C garage door controller. I can get it to pair with Hubitat but it either won't receive a command or won't act on one. From the instructions, when the device receives a command it should beep and flash for five seconds before doing anything, but it does nothing at all.

I did have to factory reset the device before installing, and I did follow the instructions for re-pairing with the tilt sensor. As best I can tell it is correctly paired, but the logs show that the position is unknown, and when I send a command nothing happens.

Help?

check the battery in the door sensor.. when it needs replacment this happends.. then monitor the door position in the hubitat as you manually open and close the door with your button in garage till it reads the correct position. usually takes a few times.

I'll give that a try in the morning. Do you suspect that this is what's preventing it from getting any command at all?

You have to cycle the garage door open/close via the wall switch before the GoControl can operate the door.

also did u pair s2. I think it will pair without it but will not work without s2/security

Yes, I did pair S2.

Are you using this on a Chamberlain/MyQ garage door?

Nope, an old Craftsman model 13953960SRT from 2003.

yep confirmed paired secure

That is a Chamberlain. But yours is probably a red learn button (on the opener) and not a yellow or purple button? If so, you don't need an adapter. If it is yellow or purple button you do need an adapter.

Huh, never knew that. But following the suggestions above has helped resolve whatever was the issue. Thanks for your help.

I checked the battery, re-paired the tilt sensor again (is that a re-re-paired?) and then cycled the garage door 10 or so times. One or more of those things resolved the matter, so this is now fixed. Thanks everyone.

NB: you’ll probably need to do a full cycle of the door every time you change the tilt sensor battery.

Also, try to change the battery promptly when you receive a low battery warning.
