Gmail not sending email

I was/am using node red to send txts and email, I can't seem to figure out how to set up this new scenario with the application specific password . In my google account Do I use the mail option? I tried it and node red doesn't retain the new app specific password after I deploy it, any ideas what I should be doing?

Thanks,

Which email node are you using? I use the native Node-RED email node and it retains the password etc.

You need to create an application specific password..

Ah - I thought that the OP had already done that?

Apologies @douglaspitman! I see you are trying to use the "App Password".. need more coffee this morning apparently.

The answer is yes- select "Mail" for the type of app and use your gmail address (not the one in the example box which is a little confusing).

I have my own mail server so was not using gmail and just tested this for giggles. It does work as advertised with the standard email node.
