How i solved my geofencing. I moved from an all apple ecosystem to all HE. I used to have home-bridge doing virtual switches and timers. Homebridge also integrated my Ubiquity Protect cameras into HK.
When i got the HE i moved all the automations to rules in HE. What was left was GEO Fencing and cameras. I still use home-bridge for the Ubiquity Protect cameras. I have not found a way around that yet.
In HE i careated a virtual switch called Home-Away. i Enabled it for HK.
In HK i have 2 automations.
- when anyone arrives turn on the Home-Away Switch
- When last person leaves turn off Home-Away Switch
In HE i have rules for when Home-Away
- When Home-Away is on turn on some lights at night and open the garage door
- When Home-Away is off turn all the lights off and make sure the doors are closed and locked.
Im sure this same process would work for andriod users with amazon or google.
