A few years ago I picked up several GE/Jasco Portable Smart Motion Sensors. These were very difficult to add to my C7 Hub. After multiple attempts, I stumbled on a solution and discussed this in an old post. I now have a C8 hub and I want to add two more of these sensors. I see that this motion sensor is listed on the compatible list. Nonetheless, I always get stuck in the "found a z-wave device ... initializing" but it never completes the initialization. This is what worked a few years ago using a C7 hub but no longer works.
"Power down to red. Unplug for 30 seconds. Factory reset sensor. It got stuck on initializing again. So when the count was down to about 30 seconds, I pressed the sensor button once again and poof, it successfully added. I'm guessing that this is the trick to get the sensor to add. After the device is detected and it is stuck on initializing, wait a little while and then press the button on the sensor once again."
Anybody have any advise? These are great z-wave sensors once they get added.
