GE/Jasco issues

I have several GE/Jasco in wall toggle switches some are dimmers, for the past few days none of them respond to commands. Anyone else having this issue?

C-8 hub up to date 2.4.4.151( even on previous version was having issues)
restarted hub
turned off breaker waited 30 seconds and then back on to switches

Instead of just rebooting the hub, shut it down, unplug power for 1 full minute then power back up and see if things are responsive.

Also what hub and what firmware version?>

My house is full of GE Jasco switch’s and dimmers. No issues with recent firmware. As @rlithgow1 suggest try shutting down the hub for 30 seconds to restart the zwave radio on the hub, reboot doesn’t do that.

If that doesn’t fix it check for ghost devices in your zwave settings list or you might have a bad device spamming your zwave mesh which is causing the problem.

Same...all dimmers/switches are GE/UltraPro Jasco and zero issues w/any platform versions.

The hub shut down/pull power dance will fully restart your radios and that often clears up temporary radio issues. Otherwise below:

If these are older switches and you had a power outage then they could all be dead. I guess the newer ones don't have this issue but I have just about eliminated all of mine and switched to Zooz. Almost every time I had a power glitch or had to turn off a breaker if there was a GE switch on the circuit it would die. Usually they start clicking, so probably not your issue.

Question: Are the switches/dimmers Z-Wave or Zigbee? I have multiple Zigbee GE/Jasco switches/dimmers. I have had only one go bad on me. I replaced it with another Zigbee switch. I have had reliable service from them. I don't know about Z-Wave reliability.

Chances of several switches going at the same time are pretty small...

Agree. Most likely a short-term radio issue, device spamming, or ghost.

Is the UltraPro still targeted for sale to "pros" and are they still high priced?
Jasco really ticked me off when they introduced its UltraPro line.

that worked, Thank you

I bought a bunch of UltraPro over several years ago (during a remodel), and they were consistently cheaper than the "GE" versions on Amazon. Used to find them in two-packs for ~$50 IIRC. These were the Z-Wave Plus versions... :man_shrugging:

Glad it's sorted.

Any time that you have what looks like a radio/device communication issue, starting w/the shut down/pull power/30s wait/restore power is an easy and frequently successful troubleshooting step.

Sometimes a on-off, but if you run into this type of problem again you're going to need to look for issues w/devices spamming your hub or ghosts in your Z-Wave Device list.

So, not 800LR? I remember, faultily I'm sure, that "UltraPro" came into being simultaneous with the 800LR. Again, probably wrong.

UltraPro brand has been around for years - going back at least six years.

Yeah, just checked, my first UltraPro purchase on Amazon was in 2020 (Z-Wave Plus, way pre-LR) and I think I bought some from Costco online before then.
