I have two of these Motion sensors working in HE environment. The question I have is why one device show the battery level, This is the first one I installed into the system. The second one does not show the battery level.
What I notice that is different in the device data section the one with the battery indicator show an MSR: 0063-4953-3133 and the other one shows ZwWakeupinterval 43200
They both are working with the only minor problem of reporting two activity messages when it should be only one. That messaging issue was raised in a previous email.
The issue now is that the second installed device does not give me a battery level.
When I first installed the first sensor I used batteries. Then after testing and allowing for some soak time I changed it over to USB power and now I am not in the need for the battery level on this unit which it shows as 100
The second unit I installed today is on battery and I do not see a battery level.
I installed the first unit when I had HE firmware 2.2.4.158
I installed the second unit today with HE firmware 2.2.5.131
Thank you for any suggestions
Did you exclude and re-include the device after changing the power type. Documentation mentions this being needed.
I would suggest excluding them, resetting to factory defaults while they are powered the way you want to use them, and re-including them. I donโt have this particular motion sensor, but I do have the Zooz ZSE18, which also can be powered either on battery or from the USB connector. They configure themselves for power type the first time they receive power or when reset to factory defaults. Perhaps your devices are similar.
Edit: looks like I donโt type quickly enough.

The odd thing is that the first one added to the system that I did not do an exclude and re-include.
The second one which does not show the battery this is the first installation of it.
If I do the exclude and re-include do I need to go thru the hassle of device discovery again?
Getting access to put the devices in pairing mode is not easy where I have them located.
The re-include is done via the device discovery, so unfortunately yes.
I have no idea why but now both of my GE Enlighten Motion Sensor made by Jasco ZW6302
are showing me a battery voltage. Yesterday I tried to do an exclude but I did not put any devices in pairing mode, no devices came up on my screen so I thought that the attempt would have been aborted as I had not selected any devices.
Today Super Bowl Sunday 2021 when I looked at the app on my iPhone it showed me the battery percentage on both sensors.
Thank you for all who took the time to read and suggest a possible solution.
What I would like to know is where do I find the documentation that said I should do the Exclude and then the re-include when I change from battery power to USB powered?
Again I say thank you - Stu
The fact the role of a Z-wave device on the mesh changes when AC powered vs. battery powered makes sense you need to include again when switching power sources for proper operation.
BTW, Jasco has these motion sensors on clearance for 50% off, just ordered two myself.
If can install the usb cable to power and press and hold the back Button for 10 sec when the light will flash blue-purple and red then release.
Remove cable and install new battery and repeater the process and it will cause the Motion Sensor work all the time plus the correct battery at 100%. Works everytime
