GE Enbrighten Plus Dimmer Minimum Level

I'm using the built in "GE Enbrighten Plus Dimmer" driver and I'm attempting to set the minimum level, however it doesn't appear to be pushing out that preference to the switch. After setting to 10% (which works with my led bulbs) when I change the level either through hubitat or at the physical switch it will drop the level below that 10% threshold. I even tried setting level to 35%, and it would still allow me to drop below that setting. I tried hitting configure, save preferences, save device. Interesting the reported status level when I dim, never drops below what I had it set to. Am I missing something? I believe the model is 14294.

I'm pretty sure that is actually the "Enbrighten" rebranded old model z-wave plus dimmer. I believe the Enbrighten driver was made for the model that says "quickfit" and "simple wire" which is model 46203. You will want to use the driver that says Generic Z-Wave Smart Dimmer.

Could use the Basic Zwave Tool to set Parameter 30 manually and then switch back.

As Ken alluded to - you need to know if you have the old or new 14294 model. Yes, Jasco/GE used the exact same model number for 2 different generations of devices. Idiots.

  • Old has physical breakoff tabs on the side, the new doesn't.
  • Old does not support S2 security, the new one does.
  • Old does not support minimum brightness parameter, new one does.

An easy way to tell - go to device details and look at inClusters. if 0x9F is there, then it is a new style. If not, it isn't. If it isn't, you shouldn't be using the "Enbrighten" driver, you should just use the generic zwave smart dimmer driver.

Nifty little tool. Thanks for turning me on to this. I ran the parameter report and parameter 30 doesn't show up. Tried setting it anyway and it didn't work.

This clears so much up! It has the break off tabs, and 0x9f is not there. Looks like I have the old version. I'm going to return them to Amazon. I just ordered what I think is new version. Stupid amazon description I can't tell for certain. I'll find out tomorrow.

Does any one know if the new version support double tap, minimum threshold, and default brightness? I really need all three of those things for these switches. I would use an inovelli red series, but they don't work with the Lithonia Wafer LEDs.

Thank you guys for helping me out. I'm new to hubitat {formerly ST and Vera user). The community over here is awesome.

I don't have the new version , but from what I've read it's yes to the first two. I know they support level prestaging, but not sure about default brightness. Check @JasonJoel 's github drivers, his may have more features than the stock ones have.

Yes. You may need a user driver instead of the in-box one though. The default brightness works in a very specific (annoying/bad in my opinion) way in the in-box driver. I would start w/the in-box driver 1st and see if you are OK with how it works, if not install one of the other drivers.

Awesome, thanks Ken and Jason. Fingers crossed I can get these new ones fired up this weekend. @JasonJoel I'll be sure to check out your driver. You have quite the reputation around these parts.
