GE 58391 Plug-in Smart Dimmer
I have a lamp connected to one of these dimmers, using the Generic Z-Wave Smart Dimmer driver on my C-7, and it works admirably except in one very noticeable way:
• In response to the Mirror Me app (taking its cues from the on/off/dim status of another plug-in dimmer device), the 58391 — instead of gently "ramping" its bright up or down — abruptly "jumps" to the new brightness level.
It kinda ruins the mood of our entertainment area, particularly when the room is otherwise dark or subdued. I imagine that a dedicated integration, in which the driver includes such things as "Max Level" and "Ramp Rate", would do wonders to attenuate this issue. Assuming, of course, that the GE 58391 indeed responds to those settings.
In the meantime, I could, of course, try swapping out alternative drivers to see which one "sorta works" best, but I don't consider that a best practice on HE. However, I will note the following snippet from this device, in case it helps staff:
• * inClusters: 0x5E,0x56,0x86,0x72,0x5A,0x85,0x59,0x73,0x26,0x27,0x70,0x2C,0x2B,0x7A
