My GE 12729 Z-Wave Dimmer switch is not automatically reporting state changes when the physical switch is flipped.
If I go into the dashboard and click "refresh" the state will update
I have tried with the Generic Z-wave Dimmer (the default) and with the GE Enbrighten drivers, same result.
Any thoughts on what is going on? I am trying to write a rule that turns on/off two other lights not physically controlled by the switch when the switch changes state, but cant get past this reporting issue.
The switch in question:
Side note, this exact same rule did work when I was on SmartThings
If that's not a Z-Wave Plus you may need to poll it.

what do you mean? I would need to manually go in and check that switch?
(Most/almost all) NON-plus dimmer/switch devices do not automatically send status updates to the hub when changed physically/locally. Because of that, you have to have the hub poll/refresh it periodically to keep the states in sync.
Real pain in the arse, and because of that I highly recommend replacing all NON-plus devices with plus models (regardless what hub they are being used on - not specific to Hubitat).
It was a happy day in my house when I removed and threw away the last of those GE dimmers/switches.
Thank you, I have installed the poller app and will see how that goes!
What do you recommend replacing it with?
Any zwave plus device that does what you want.
Ge, inivelli, zooz are probably the most common.
Lutron Caseta (you will need the bridge though) They just work.... Barring that, inovelli
