Frequent solid blue LED on C-8

For the past month or two, my C-8 becomes unresponsive every couple of days with a solid blue LED. It seems this started after an update, but I've updated several times since without resolution. Only a power cycle resolves it.

When LED is solid blue:

  • Web interface will not open, "This site can't be reached"
  • Responds to ping
  • Listed in findmyhub
  • :8081 opens - 1) Reboot hub doesn't work, 2) Shutdown hub doesn't work 3) Afraid to try Soft reset for fear of losing Z-wave network and don't know if it would help anyway.
  • Holding Reset button for 7+ seconds shows no change in LED

Current platform version: 2.4.3.167. Connected via Ethernet cable. Has reserved IP address.
Anything else I should try to resolve this? Is it a sign that my hub is dying? Thanks for your help.

You need to do a Soft Reset.

Okay. I've done that. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this resolves it.

The next thing to try is a different/replacement power supply. Any USB power supply that can provide 1A (or higher) at 5V DC will work. Although, given your description, a corrupted hub database is the most likely issue. And the Soft Reset should have fixed that.

Well that didn't last long. I'm back to unresponsive hub with solid blue LED after only a few hours following the soft reset. I'll give a different power supply a try.
