I had to physically relocate my C7 hub a few days ago. Now 10 of the 32 ZWave devices in my network are now not responding to the hub, reporting to the hub, and doing a repair results in "Repair failed node unreachable" messages.
Is there a way I can fix them without excluding and re-joining them?
Are your devices Z-Wave or Z-Wave Plus? I understand that Z-Wave Plus devices will find a new route on their own, but Z-Wave (not plus), not so much...
Do you have the latest Hub firmware? If not, a good first step might be to update - A lot of Z-Wave issues were resolved in the latest version.
Also, do you have any ghost nodes? (In the Clusters column of the Z-Wave Details Screen, these have empty in: and out:). You need to remove all ghost notes as they will cause issues.
You can probably also try to re-link the devices by doing a refresh in the Z-Wave Details screen and triple-pressing (Putting in pairing mode) the switches (or sensors). I was able to re-pair some of my Inovelli switches and Zooz sensors in the past that way when they no longer worked. Though some eventually found their way after a while, and after I was able to stabilize my mesh...
On the latest firmware and no ghost nodes. That's the weird thing. In the zwave status page all nodes report as ok. But this set of 10 don't respond to the hub, don't report events, and reports the errors during a manual repair.
Have you tried manipulating the devices locally? If they are plus, then if you use them locally they should try to make a new path back to the hub (if their current one is not working).
If that doesn't work, shutdown the hub, remove power for 30s, power it back up and see if things change.
This is me being curious... Donโt think it will help resolve the issue, but when I had a similar issue, I was sometimes able to se the state of the switches in Hubitat change, but not able to control them.
This is a very good thing to try. It will reset your hubโs Z-Wave radio.
Oh, and - do you have any Z-Wave bulbs in the mix?
So I tried the graceful shutdown, power off, wait, power on earlier today with no luck.
I finally seem to be making progress, I'm power cycling the zwave devices themselves and that is bringing them back online. Thankful the zwave spec requires an easy to access device power switch.
Wish I knew what the original cause was, but I'm glad I don't have to exclude and re-include a bunch of stuff!
