I have tried cree, ecosmart and GE bulbs in my zooz dimmers and all 3 flickered at low light levels. All switches have 3 or 4 LED bulbs in them. My old GE dimmer works with any bulb I throw at it. I finally gave up and quit worrying about it
New development. When we were doing these LED bulb tests, there was an industrial dry wall fan on in the same area. I had a gut feeling that may be it was drawing too much power so maybe the lights were flickering since the lights above the stairwell did NOT flicker before. We tested it again today WITHOUT the industrial fan on and all the lights were fine.
Does this mean the issue is with the wiring in our house or an upgrade on the circuit panel is needed? That would be a much more expensive change than I was hoping for…
It could be just a bad contact somewhere in fan wiring (circuit braker, junction box(es), etc.).
It could be EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) interference, (fan itself could be noisy).
We bit the bullet and just went with the Philips bulbs. It seems to be the most highly recommended here. $5/bulb with the Memorial Day Sale. We did the math though and the $5 a bulb more than pays for itself. I might still try Feit if they are cheaper for one of the light fixtures downstairs
I agree. If the fan is on the same circuit, it’s chucking out transients that’s affecting other electronics on the cct. I recommend a snubber on the fan to quiet it down.
Simple snubber may or may not work. Power line filter like this (quick search) should be much better:

(It will need to be put in the electric box.)
For $15 that looks like a great item.
@HarleysWorld Just in case if you are thinking about to try power filter it MUST be installed right next to the fan (or whatever equipment) in question. Otherwise it will not do anything good.
Thank you! The fan was just temporary since we had to do some quick drywall work. But we were dumb and tested the LEDs the night we were running it
I am happy to hear that you have a solution!
