I have a C8 Pro and was looking through my devices and I have a Third Reality RGBW bulb that I attempted to do a firmware update. It came up in the logs that it was downloading and now it says starting update but has not done the update. The log entry comes in average of one time per minute and has been doing so for the last 25 minutes or so. Below is a screenshot of the log entry. Is this normal? How long will it attempt this until it stops? Is there a way to force a stop? Is this anything to be concerned about?
This likely is not helpful to you directly, but maybe it will trigger thought with others. There was a wierd issue about 2 yrs back with some sengled that did a very similar behavior - as if they just never got started updating - just looped trying.
In the end - as my memory serves and it's really bad - the only way to stop the loop was to reboot your hub and never push the 'update' button. It was just one, maybe 2 distinct models that did this. Those bulbs are long gone so I can't offer anything of true use. I seem to also recall that there was a device that required using it's manufacturers hub to get the firmwares update. The process I think was to drop your device off the HE, reconnect it to this external hub, push the update, then reconnect.
Third Reality actually has a good support response - maybe they have a method for externally doing the firmware?
Thank you. The shutdown stopped the cycle. I truly appreciate it.
