Just a note - I have 3 3rd reality outlets I use for power monitoring on high current devices. Ignoring the history many of us know about chattiness - I recently was made aware that they have released firmware updates (last week 9/14?) and in at least 2 cases a previous error/warn message is now gone.
If you use the 3rd reality driver - consider smashing the 'Firmware' button on these devices in your environments.
Not an outlet but I have the 3r zigbee nightlights. They didn't want to provide Hubitat with an OTA driver, but they did send me one of their hubs free. Very cumbersome though. Glad they at least released one OTA driver... Hope it solved your chattiness issue.
They seem to release their updates for plugs and motion sensors to Hubitat when they are available, there have been several this year. I don't know why the night light release process might be different.
If I am thinking of the correct device, I think the way the original nightlight firmware requests updates from the hub is in a different way from usual and it doesnโt work on HE, just gets an error. There is a thread about it somewhere with the TR rep explaining it. Possibly fixable but has not been fixed yet AFAIK.
Thank you for this, the chatting stopped for the one I updated... so doing all the other ones...
Anybody knows if there's a way to know when there's new firmware for 3rd reality hardware ?
Yeah once it's on the current version, it will now OTA fine. There was a cluster not present I believe or it did something odd, I forget which.
