My network has had some issues where events are inconsistent. I ran a full repair a couple of times without improvement. So I looked at the Z-Wave details page and noticed I have two devices listed (x0B and x20) that don't have a device name. That field is blank. I looked at the Device page and those two nodes are not listed at all.
How do I identify these devices and get this resolved?
Those are probably 'ghosts' (devices joined incompletely)
You'll probably see that the Device Class column will provide a clue as to what failed. In other words, if the device class is: 'SPECIFIC_TYPE_ROUTING_SENSOR_MULTILEVEL' you can look further down and guess which device joined on the second or third attempt. That doesn't usually help much, but you might be remineded of the problem youhad getting the device to join properly. It's the reason we advise people to stop on a join fail and clear up the ghost right away.
The solution is to click Refresh for that device on the ZWave Details page and when the Replace and Remove buttons appear, click Remove. (These are slow processes that run out on the ZWave SOC (radio) chip. Don't click rapidly, if the first Refresh does not result in the Remove button.)
Thanks! I had one of the devices that had the device class you listed and when I refreshed I had the option to remove it. However, the other is type GENERIC_TYPE_SWITCH_BINARY, and when I refresh it comes back as having 4 neighbors, no "remove" option. What next?
I get the following in the log (read from the bottom up...):
