Finally, a base that stays in place!

I’ve been dealing with falling Smart Things/Aeotech Zigbee motion sensors for a while now, so asked my son to design a new base. He did a great job!



I suspect that on warmer days, the glue holding the base slowly let go until it and the sensor eventually ended-up on the ground. Luckily, they have always survived the fall… but sensors using this new base won’t have to worry about that!

The stickers would typically stay stuck on the wall, so these new bases should be more solidly anchored even if one wanted to use a new sticker instead of a couple of screws.

It was pretty simple to move the steel ball from the old mount to the new 3D printed one.
