Few odd UDP packets to port 9999

I've noticed a few (3) UDP packets coming from my Hubitat, directed at the subnet gateway on port 9999. I saw a few comments from Developers about using this port. Is this normal?

On the plus side, I'm having lots of fun all this. Have about a dozen Kasa devices working perfectly, and Amazon's bringing some Z-wave devices today. Everything's working great!

Welcome to Hubitat and I am glad your devices are working well and you are starting out on a great experience.

UDP port 9999 is used by the Kasa devices for LAN control.

I’m not seeing any from the Kasa devices, but as long as it’s common for Kasa I won’t worry about it. I run a firewall that accounts specific packets and dumps the rest. Thanks for the quick reply.

Occasionally, the Kasa Cloud sends out a BROADCAST udp message to all Kasa Devices. It is the Kasa phone applications means of getting the status for the device.
